In August 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to mentor aspiring animators at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW). As a member of Girls in Animation, an NGO dedicated to empowering women in the animation industry, I was thrilled to share my passion and knowledge with the next generation of creatives.
The numbers don't lie: women are significantly underrepresented in animation programs. But we're determined to change that! We spent two days sharing our passion, offering practical advice, and igniting the creative spark in these talented students.
From building strong portfolios to mastering the art of pitching, we equipped them with essential tools for success. We were blown away by their enthusiasm and innovative ideas. It's clear that Ghana has a wealth of untapped animation talent, and we're committed to nurturing it.
Together, we're building a brighter future for women in animation!
